Whilst overlooked, steering wheels, gear knobs, seat belts and other various trimmed elements all still make up part of your interior. As such, they can either compliment or tarnish an interior upgrade depending on the condition. 

Traditionally speaking, steering wheels and gear knobs are the first casualty when it comes to making budget cuts on the base models, where a cast or injection mould vinyl/rubber option is used, but the results usually speak for themselves. They look and feel cheap, and are often dull in presentation.

These components are usually high-wear items, and as such, CDA strongly advises only the use of leather on steering wheels and gear knobs. In addition to this, we only recommend Australian Design Rules (ADR) approved seat belt webbing for our builds, and the use of high-quality vinyl for things like gear boots and handbrake covers as used in Original Equipment of Manufacturer (OEM) applications to prevent any “shift travel” restriction (where you might not be able to shift into gear or apply the brakes sufficiently due to lack of stretch in materials).
